The Believer's Protection

Many believers are fearful and anxious because of what is happening in the world. They are concerned about the future, about persecution and hardship. If we follow Jesus Christ we have nothing to worry about because He goes ahead of us. The reason why these people are so worried is because they are NOT FOLLOWING Jesus Christ and they DO NOT TRUST HIM.
We read in Revelation 12:11 “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony and they loved not their lives until death.” Those are the ones who FOLLOWED Jesus Christ and who OVERCAME.
You overcome by your TESTIMONY. Your testimony is the result of your relationship with Jesus Christ. It is the PROOF that you are following Jesus because you only have a testimony IF you follow Jesus Christ.
Are YOU overcoming because YOU are following Jesus Christ and He is going ahead of you? Are YOU overcoming because of the blood of the Lamb and the word of YOUR testimony?

Freedom from bondage and fear

All men are captives, they are slaves to something even though they might think that they are free men. People live in fear of death, insecurities, anxiety, addictions... People are concerned about what other people think about them, peer pressure. What are other people going to say?

Jesus Christ came to set us free and those whom the Son of God have set free, they will be free and free indeed. But there is a condition to the freedom that Jesus gives us and that is THAT WE SERVE HIM AS LORD, we deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Jesus Christ every day. If we accept Jesus Christ as LORD then we do not care what other people think about us, any more. We do not worry about the things of the world. We do not worry about tomorrow or about our security, our safety, what we will eat, what we will drink, our future, because Jesus said:”Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you,” but that is the condition, that we must first seek the righteousness of Jesus Christ, His standard of righteousness. We must live in OBEDIENCE to Him and we must SERVE Him as KING. If we serve Jesus as Lord then we TRUST Him, that He guides our footsteps and nothing can happen to us that is not approved or allowed by Him. Jesus Christ determines our life IF we obey Him and if we live to please Him. And then He sets us absolutely free, we have nothing else to fear, whatsoever.

People don't want to be free, they prefer bondage because they trust in their own understanding and they want things THEIR WAY. They are not willing to pray from their heart:”Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come...” If we truly trust Jesus then we will pray the Lord's prayer with conviction, from the heart and say:”Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, here on earth as it is in heaven...” Then we will satisfy ourselves in the assurance that GOD IS IN CONTROL and we trust Him with our life, WE HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!

I WILL NOT BE AFRAID - THE LORD IS MY HELPER

People regard money as a safeguard against the problems of life because if they have got money then they can buy their way out of trouble. But there comes a time when money is finished and when money cannot help us. There are things that money cannot buy. That is why we must put our trust in Jesus because Jesus will never let us down. The writer of Hebrews writes in Hebrews 13:5”Let your way of life be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU,NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,” so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT SHALL MAN DO TO ME?”

If we serve Jesus then we take our rescue in Him, then we are never in despair because He promised those who follow and obey Him, that He will never leave them, He will never forsake them and He is their Helper. What can man do to them? Because if God looks after us then nothing can happen to us that He does not approve of, and He loves His children, He loves those who take refuge with Him, those who love Him and who obey Him.

Is money your shelter or have you made Jesus Christ your Lord, your Provider and your Shelter? Because then you have nothing to fear.

A Safe Shelter

There is a safe hiding place, a shelter for those who live in righteousness. For those who live in the House of God because we are His House.  We are His dwelling place if we live in obedience to Jesus, if we obey Him then He comes and abides with us.  He gives us His Spirit to come and live in us.  I read the Words of Jesus in John 14:18-21 He said: "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you, after a little while the world will behold Me no more but you will behold Me; because I live, you shall live also. In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments (My Words) and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him and I will disclose Myself to him." To those who know Jesus, He is not far away, He is not far away in Heaven, He is here, He is a reality.  He sent us His Spirit to comfort us to be with us all the time because Jesus Himself and the Father has made His dwelling place in us.  And there is a shelter where you can go when everything around you is falling to pieces, it does not matter what the situation is outside you can enjoy that inner peace because you are living in the House of God.  It is when you go and spend time with Him in close communion.  Just go and spend time with Jesus in prayer waiting on Him and then His Spirit will speak to you. He will reveal Himself to you.  He will explain things to you, He will share His secrets with you.  He said: "I will reveal Myself to you."  He says "the world does not see Me anymore but you will because I will be in you."  Dear friend, do you experience Jesus as a reality, every moment of your life? Because He is real, He is not far away.  Have you receive the Holy Spirit that He promised to those who obey Him who have invited Him in and are embracing Him?  Who are sensitive to His Spirit speaking to them because then He comes in and He dwells with you and you are never alone.  You are always comforted, you always have the Helper next to you.  You are never desperate you are never destitute, Jesus is with you.  That is the inheritance of the saints, Immanuel, God with us, Jesus in me.  It doesn’t matter what happens in this world, if you have the peace of Christ in you, then nothing else matters but we must remain in Him, in His Words, obedience to Him, listening to His Spirit, spending time with Him every day, to receive the Bread of Life.  Man will not live from Bread alone but from every Word that proceeds from the MOUTH of God.  Have you been listening this morning, did you spend time last night listening, hearing from Him.
There is a place of safety, of comfort, of hope, of rest, in Jesus.  He is inviting you to come to Him, open the door and let Jesus come in.  Obey Him, seek Him and He will be your Comforter, He will be your constant companion.  You will never be alone because you will be LIVING IN the HOUSE OF GOD. He will be dwelling inside of you.  Is Jesus dwelling inside of you dear friend?  Are you living in the House of God?
