If we receive the gospel of Jesus Christ and accept it, then it is IMPLANTED in us and it yields eternal life if we obey it, if we let it grow in us, the IMPLANTED WORD. The apostle James wrote in James 1:21 “Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility RECEIVE THE WORD IMPLANTED, which is able to save your souls.22But PROVE YOURSELVES DOERS OF THE WORD, AND NOT MERELY HEARERS WHO DELUDE THEMSELVES.”
So many people have heard the message of Jesus Christ many times, they have read the Bible many times, but they have not become doers of the word. They have not repented, they have not really accepted Jesus as their Master, they have never obeyed Him, they never got baptized. They did not come to obedience to Jesus, they did not receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the are NOT in a relationship with Jesus. They are not guided by the Holy Spirit because the word that came to them did not grow in them. It was never IMPLANTED in them, it was not accepted .
We read in Hebrews 6:7,8. “For GROUND that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but IF IT YIELDS THORNS AND THISTLES, IT IS WORTHLESS AND CLOSE TO BEING CURSED, AND IT ENDS UP BEING BURNED.” We are land, we are soil and we must be receptive to the words of Jesus. We must be receptive to that which the Holy Spirit wants to tell us, wants to guide us into all truth, but if we just keep on producing thorns and thistles, we keep on living in sin, then, dear friends, we are close to being cursed and burned. The branch that does not bear fruit will get cut off and burned. If we do not bear fruit we are useless for the Kingdom of God. The word that comes to us, must germinate, it must grow, every day, we must be receiving the WORD OF GOD every day. We must be listening to the Holy Spirit and receiving those seeds that must grow in us, and they must be producing fruit all the time. Man will not live from bread alone but from every word that proceeds FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD. We must receive that word gladly, every day. We must wait on the Lord and let that word grow in us and that must produce righteousness, holiness and fruitfulness, OBEDIENCE to Jesus Christ.
Dear friend, is that word IMPLANTED IN US? Does it grow in you or does the soil, your heart, not receive that word? Is that seed going to waste? Or is it growing? Because if it does not receive that seed and if it is not implanted, if it doesn't grow, then we are very close to being cursed! Are you receiving that IMPLANTED WORD every day? Is it growing in you? Is it producing fruit, for eternity?
May Jesus bless you.
