Driving Force

Jesus does not promise us a bed of roses or an easy ride if we follow Him. He said that:”Whoever wishes to come after Me must deny himself, pick up his cross every day and come here, follow Me.” when you decide to follow Jesus you embark on a steep and rough road but IF you endure until the end you will have the prize of eternal life.

What is it that motivates a child of God to keep on following Jesus every day? It is the prize of eternal life. It is the treasure that he is building up in heaven. If we look back and we long for the things of the world, the fleshpots of Egypt, the pleasures of sin then we are not worthy of the kingdom of God, we are not worthy of Jesus. Jesus said that whoever puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not worthy of Me.

Are you on that rough and steep road? Do you deny yourself every day, pick up your cross and follow Jesus even though things are tough? Are you working on your treasure in heaven? Do you have an expectation or will you stand naked before Jesus on judgment day?

Polished to PERFECTION

Jesus Christ is working perfection in every one of THOSE WHO ARE FOLLOWING HIM, who have the hope of eternal life. He wants to present us as a perfect bride before His Father who is in heaven. I want to share with you some reading from the book of Hebrews.
We read in Hebrews 11 about the heroes of faith who endured until the end, and then we read in Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us,” (He is talking about those heroes of faith that have gone before) “let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.4You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;”
Sin is the problem. If we sin we cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven and therefor Jesus PERFECTS us through discipline and chastisement so that we can share in His holiness.
We read verse 5 “and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,
  “MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD,
   NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;
   6FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
    AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”
7It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. 11All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.”
God disciplines all His children. He disciplines us through misfortune, sickness, pain and suffering. Things happen in our lives and we cannot understand why these things are happening. It is the hand of God that is disciplining and correcting us. There is no coincidence in the life of a child of God. Whatever happens in your life is the hand of God on your life. HE IS LEADING US TO HOLINESS, PERFECTION.
We read in verse12 “Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,13and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.”
What does he mean by that? Do not go and look for trouble. Stay on the straight and narrow road. Do not go to those places where you know that you are weak. DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO TEMPTATION BUT STAY AWAY FROM TEMPTATION. Keep your eyes on Jesus, stay focused on Him and on the prize of eternal life or else you will not make it into the Kingdom of Heaven.
He says in verse14:”Pursue peace with all men, and the SANCTIFICATION WITHOUT WHICH NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD.” Without sanctification, without holiness no man shall see the Lord. If we sin WE WILL PERISH! And that is why God is working perfection in us, through discipline and reproof because we have to be a PERFECT bride for Jesus Christ.
Verse 5 “See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; 16that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. 17For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.”
It was for ONE SIN, ONE DISOBEDIENCE that Adam died. It was only one mishap that Esau made that caused him to lose his birth right. ONE SIN can cost you eternity. Jesus requires of us ABSOLUTE HOLINESS. Adam did not find any room for repentance, he disobeyed God and he perished. The very same God expects of us, PERFECT OBEDIENCE, IF we want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus Christ is preparing a perfect bride to receive a perfect Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven and therefor we have to be perfect. We must allow Him to have His way in our lives. We have to yield to Him, we have to be UTTERLY HOLY and OBEDIENT to Him.
We read in verse 28:”Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may OFFER TO GOD AN ACCEPTABLE SERVICE WITH REVERENCE AND AWE; 29for OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE.”
We must YIELD to Jesus, we must YIELD to the Holy Spirit and live in UTTER HOLINESS, He does not tolerate disobedience because OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE, who is working PERFECTION in every one of those who ENDURES UNTIL TH EVERY END. Only those who ENDURE will in the PRIZE OF ETERNAL LIFE. Only those who DO THE WILL OF GOD will receive the prize.
We read in Hebrews 10:36 “For you have NEED OF ENDURANCE, so that when you HAVE DONE THE WILL OF GOD, you may receive what was promised.” Only those who ENDURE and DO the will of God will receive what was promised, the PRIZE of ETERNAL LIFE.

Broken to be useful

When I was young I had a passion for horses but I never owned a horse. However I met a guy who did cross country horse riding. He had three horses and he could only ride one so he offered me one of his horses to come and ride.

The horse that he offered me to ride was an eighteen hand Irish Hunter, a beast of an animal with an attitude. Very few people would stay on top of her. As soon as you got on her back she would start bucking and once you came off, that was game over, but I was determined. She threw me a few times and I got back on. Eventually I rode this horse. We became big friends. She was a marvelous cross country horse, a huge animal with a big heart. No obstacle would stop her, whether it be water or a six foot obstacle, she would fly right over or go right through the water. Where the other horses would back up and waver she just went and we completed many cross country drives. But I first had to subdue her, make her know that I was the boss and that is how God works with us. Unless we are broken and submit to the Master we are useless, we cannot be used.

My friend also had another horse, that was tame, she had been spoiled. She had no fear for humans but she was useless. She had no spirit, she was just spoiled and naughty you couldn't do anything with her. She was like religious people, they are religious, they are tame but they are useless, they cannot be used for the kingdom of God and that is why God takes wild horses, like me, HE BRAKES THEM and then he uses them for His kingdom. You cannot be used for the kingdom of God UNLESS YOUR SPIRIT HAS BEEN BROKEN and you have learned to SUBMIT to the Rider and GO where He sends you and DO what He tells you to do.

There is nothing as wonderful, as pleasurable as DOING WHAT THE MASTER WANTS YOU TO DO. Just like that big horse, Bonnie, she gave everything with all her heart. She was a wonderful horse ONCE SHE HAD BEEN BROKEN. God needs to break us before He can use us but we need to be willing. We need to yield. A horse that will not be broken is useless for the owner and a spoiled horse is equally useless. We need to be broken before we can be used and then we need to apply every grain of power that is in us for the kingdom of God.

Are you willing to be broken and used by the Master or do you want to play around with religion?

I am a scholar until the end

For most of my life I have been a poor scholar. At school I did the minimum to take the grades but if we follow Jesus Christ He turns us into ardent scholars of the Kingdom of Heaven. If we are not willing to be taught by Him, to be tutored, coached and guided then we will not graduate, we will not make it into the kingdom of Heaven.

We must go into the kingdom of heaven through much tribulation. Jesus teaches us through suffering. He, even though He was the Son of God, learned through what He suffered and if we follow Him we will suffer and we will suffer until the very end because we will be scholars of His kingdom until the very end of our lives. It is only those who are willing to learn, who are willing to be guided by the Holy Spirit, those who submit themselves to Jesus Christ and who are taught and guided by the Holy Spirit, it is only those who will qualify in the end and make it into the Kingdom of Heaven. If we refuse to be taught and coached and disciplined by the Holy Spirit then we will not be suitable to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, then we will not graduate and have eternal life.

Are you a scholar of the Kingdom of Heaven? Are you teachable? Do you submit to Jesus and are you guided by the Holy Spirit? Do you expect to graduate because you have finished the curriculum and you have met the requirements of the Examiner? Are you pleasing to Jesus in everything you do? Are you a scholar of the Kingdom of Heaven?

Champions

There are no second prizes in the kingdom of heaven. There is no space for losers. Only those who deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Jesus until the end, only they will win the prize of eternal life. It is only for the CHAMPIONS, for those who have overcome, who have overcome sin, overcome the flesh, overcome the devil and who have endured until the end. It is only for those who denied themselves and absolutely obeyed Jesus Christ.

Narrow is the door and few there be that find it. Not many believers will make it into the kingdom of heaven, only those who stayed close to Jesus, in close relationship with Him, who obeyed Him and who did His will. They are the ones who will win the prize of eternal life.

Are you a CHAMPION? Are you following Jesus every day? Will you win the prize of eternal life?

If you decide to follow Jesus then He takes you on a road that is utterly impossible. In the first place you do the “impossible,” you stop sinning. You go against your own will, against your own desires and you obey Jesus Christ.

People say it is impossible to stop sinning. With Jesus all things are possible. If you stay with Jesus then the road is impossible, it is difficult, you cannot see where you are going but you can only see Him who is guiding you, the One, whom you are following, Jesus Christ. “The righteous will live by faith and if he withdraws My soul will have no pleasure in Him.” To follow Jesus is to walk by faith, to trust Him in absolutely everything. The road will be impossible but because Jesus goes ahead of you, you arrive on the other side. You get to know Jesus because without Him you cannot walk that road. Without Jesus you will not find that narrow door that leads to life. There is no road map THERE IS ONLY JESUS.

Most people give up. Even the disciples, many of them gave up. (Go read in John 6) Jesus said to Peter:”Don't you also want to leave?” And Peter said to Him:”Lord, where shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. “If you do not hear His voice and LISTEN and FOLLOW, if you do not have the bread of life, His guidance, every day, then you cannot make it. You can follow your own mind, you can go your own way but you will not get to know Jesus and you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Relationship is HARD WORK

A successful relationship requires extremely hard work and that is why most relationships fail. That is why most marriages fail, it is because the partners are not willing to work hard at that relationship.

That is also the reason why most believers will not have eternal life. They are not willing to work on their relationship with Jesus. They are not willing to go after Him. They are not willing to deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Jesus Christ every day. Therefor they will not have eternal life.

Are you willing to put EVERYTHING into your relationship with Jesus? Are you willing to sacrifice yourself , your own will, your own pleasures, your own desires, in order to be pleasing to Jesus? If you are not willing to put everything into your relationship with Jesus Christ, you will not have eternal life.

Jesus gave everything for us and He requires of us that we put EVERYTHING into our relationship with Him. If we cannot OBEY Jesus and be pleasing to Him, we will not have eternal life.

Salvation is HARD WORK

Salvation will take extremely hard work on your and my part IF we make it through the narrow door into the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said:”Strive hard, for many I tell you will try and not be able.” You will have to try your utmost and then you still might not be able to find the narrow door. 
Without Jesus, you won't make it. If you do not deny yourself EVERY DAY, pick up your cross and follow Jesus you won't make it. Jesus has no part-time followers. You have to follow Him every day. You have to work on your relationship with Him ALL THE TIME, every moment. You must be focused on Him and on doing His will all the time. If you are not working and striving for the kingdom of God then you are breaking it down. If you are not gathering, you are scattering. If your focus is not on Jesus and if you are not led by the Holy Spirit then you are led by your own flesh and by the devil. That which is of the flesh is flesh and that which is of the Spirit of God  is Spirit. You must be led by the Spirit of God.
You cannot go sit in a corner, read your Bible and be holy. You have to GET UP and FOLLOW Jesus AFTER YOU HAVE PRAYED and sought Him in prayer. You have to seek Him always, day and night. You must seek Him in prayer, you must HEAR from Him. If you are not led by the Spirit of God you are not a child of God. If you do not have the Spirit of Christ in you, BURNING LIKE A FIRE, you are dead. 
It is not easy to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Very few will make it. Strive hard, get your focus on Jesus and follow Him every moment. Cry out to Him, seek Him and DO what He tells you to do, every day, or else you will not find that narrow door. It is HARD WORK to enter the kingdom of Heaven and very few will make it.

Press on in

Many believers have had an experienced where Jesus spoke to them, a long time ago and after that nothing happened. Many others are looking for the experience, they want to hear from God, but they are hearing nothing. And Jesus said that: “My sheep listen to My voice and they follow Me.” Jesus wants to guide you. Jesus wants us to be in relationship with Him. He said: Follow Me. He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us, His own Spirit but we must PRESS ON IN, we must seek Him. Jesus wants our undivided attention. 

People want God to speak to them, when it pleases them, but we must devote our lives to Jesus, to the Kingdom of God. Nothing must be more important than Jesus, than hearing His voice, than being led by His Holy Spirit. We must hunger and thirst, press on in. Remove every obstacle. Spend time with the Lord, fast, pray. SEEK JESUS Himself with all your heart. You won’t find Jesus in the Bible. You won’t find Him in fellowship with other people. Other people might share with you their experience with Jesus. You might read in the Bible how God dealt with other people in the past but that must encourage us to seek our OWN experience and not just a once of experience but a CONSTANT LIVE RELATIONSHIP with the Living God, because God is alive. Jesus is alive, but we need to PRESS ON IN. 

People say they don’t feel the presence of God. God is there, Jesus is with you. He has never left you but you need to PRESS ON IN. If we OBEY His Spirit what He has planted in us, iIf we live in RIGHTEOUSNESS, in HOLINESS and if we DO what is pleasing to Him, if we witness for Him, He will reveal Himself to us but JESUS REQUIRES OUR UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. We must be focused on Him. Press on in all the time. Then we will experience His presence.

We cannot serve two Masters. We will either hate the one and love the other. If we do not LOVE JESUS and GO AFTER HIM with all our power, we cannot follow Him. You CAN experience the presence of God if you SEEK HIM, if you PRESS ON IN. He said: “Draw closer to Me and I will draw closer to you.” PRESS ON IN, seek Jesus. Let your mind always be on Him. Wait on Him. Expect Him. Do what is pleasing to Him and He will reveal Himself to you more and more. PRESS ON IN! SEEK HIM. Don’t look at other people. Don’t look at their experience, seek your own. SEEK JESUS and you will find Him.

The Perseverance of the Saints

Many people profess to believe in Jesus but when their faith is tested then they have no endurance, no perseverance. They easily give up and they walk away from Jesus. Only those who endure until the end will be saved, that is the QUALITY OF THE SAINTS. They persevere, we read in Revelation 14:12 ”Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” those people who obey Jesus, because He spoke the words of God and they keep their faith in Him, they endure, they do not give up, because without faith it is impossible to please God.

We read in Hebrews 11:6 “without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.“ Many people pray and they don't receive an answer and then they just give up. They say:”God didn't show up!” They didn't trust Him!

God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Only those who endure until the end will win the prize of eternal life. The apostle James wrote in James 1:5 “ But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But HE MUST ASK IN FAITH WITHOUT ANY DOUBTING, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.7 For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,” Those who go to God BELIEVE that He is, they trust Him, they endure even though they see nothing happening, they trust Him. They KNOW that He will not leave them, they KNOW that He will not let them down and therefor they ENDURE, they keep on trusting although there is no sign that God has heard their prayer.

If you do not endure you will not receive anything. You need to endure in your faith. You need to hold on! If you pray, wait expectantly. God has heard your prayer and He will answer, but if you do not endure you will not receive. IF YOU DO NOT KEEP ON OBEYING JESUS YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE PRIZE OF ETERNAL LIFE.

People are so concerned about themselves. They just pray:”God give me this, God give me that,” It is all about themselves, its not about the kingdom of God whereas Jesus said:”Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you.” Make God your father. Your Father will never let you down. Your earthly father might let you down but our heavenly Father cannot. MAKE HIM YOUR FATHER! Trust Him and you will never be disappointed. IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT GOD, DON'T THINK HE WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYER! You need to go to him with faith and with trust and with perseverance. Those who endure until the end, they will receive what was promised!
