Make DISCIPLES OF JESUS not friends

The world wants to make friends with other people, with influential people. Christians like to use the names of famous name preachers, they want to be attached to and associate with famous names and great people. But that is not what Jesus called us for. He commanded us to make disciples of HIMSELF, not to make friends and influence people and build churches. It is all about Jesus and the Kingdom of God, about knowing Jesus and following Him, getting our wisdom and guidance from Him.

If we follow Jesus we will be persecuted, rejected, excluded from worldly people and we have to cherish HIS PRESENCE, His acceptance and His approval more than anything else. If you follow Jesus Christ you will often be alone but you will be with Jesus Christ. It is not about friends and being accepted by others. It is about our relationship with Jesus Christ and being pleasing to HIM.

Losing Contact

Many people once knew Jesus, they loved Him. They wanted to follow Him, they spent time praying, their thoughts were filled with Jesus Christ but then they grew cold. Many of them became religious, hypocrites and they got busy with other things, they went after selfish pursuits, seeking their own pleasure and the LOST CONTACT WITH JESUS.

If we do not STAY with Jesus, FOLLOW Him, get to know Him better every day and work on an everlasting, ever-enduring relationship with Jesus that will endure until eternity we WILL NOT SPEND ETERNITY WITH HIM. Jesus will say to many, who once loved Him and followed Him, who once KNEW Him, He will say to them:”Go away I never knew you, you workers of wickedness,” because they turned their back on Him, they LOST CONTACT.

Jesus will not leave us nor forsake us but if we lose contact with Jesus and go our own way we will spend eternity away from Him in damnation. Are you IN CONTACT with Jesus every moment or have you LOST CONTACT?

Do NOT Seek Fellowship

Many believers who find Jesus fall into the trap of seeking the fellowship of other believers and then they cross pollinate and then they form fleshly “Christian” associations that have nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not call us to seek the fellowship of other people. He called us into fellowship with Himself so that He can teach us and that we in turn will make disciples who follow Jesus and who are taught by Him, sons of God, who do the WILL OF GOD.

Jesus did not call us into “fellowships” and little groups, He called us into His body, into Himself so that we can do HIS WILL and speak HIS WORDS. We are the BODY OF CHRIST. We need to seek to be pleasing to Jesus. We have to seek the WILL OF GOD and DO IT. That is our calling. Not to make friends and influence people but to DO THE WILL OF GOD.

Do not fall into the “fellowship trap.” Do not try and make friends with the world. Seek the WILL OF GOD and DO IT.

Selfish Fellowship

People go after fellowship with other people, with other Christians all because of selfish reasons. It is all about THEM. They don't want to be lonely, they want to be affiliated, they want to be accepted. People want Jesus for what they can get out of Him not for the sake of being with Jesus Himself and that is why they look for the company of other people.

If we love Jesus and we want to spend eternity with Him we will already do s RIGHT NOW. We will constantly make ourselves aware of Him and His presence. We will treasure HIS FELLOWSHIP. Where our treasure is there our heart will be also .

Is our heart WITH Jesus and with being pleasing to Him or do we seek the approval, acceptance and fellowship of other people?
