A Terrible Disappointment

Most believers will be terribly disappointed when they die and they stand before Jesus and they are rejected by Him. Many believe that they only need to believe in Jesus to have eternal life. You need to be born again to have eternal life. Many people look for miracles, signs, wonders as also the Jews did. We read in John 3:1-3.”Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, UNLESS ONE IS BORN AGAIN HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” How do you know that a person is born again? Jesus went on and explained to Nicodemus, John 3:8 “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; SO IS EVERYONE WHO IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT.” A person who is born again is LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD AND HE DOES THE WILL OF GOD. Many people do miracles, many believers have received Spiritual gifts of healing, casting out demons and because of that they think they have eternal life. They think that they have security. Many have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, they speak in tongues and they think that because they have the gift, they have guarantee of eternal life. Jesus requires of us that we live righteously. Many of those people will be disappointed because we read in Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ There are many preachers who are like this but they are practicing LAWLESSNESS. They think they have the approval of God and they think they have eternal life but they have no relationship with Jesus because JESUS HAS NO RELATIONSHIP WITH PRACTICING SINNERS. You are either led by the Holy Spirit or you are led by the flesh and you do what you please. But if you are a BORN AGAIN CHILD OF GOD you OBEY the HOLY SPIRIT. Many people think that they can buy their way into heaven. They think that if they give tithes and money to the church and to missions that they can buy themselves a spot in heaven. Jesus called us to obedience, to service, to serve Him as Lord and KING. You cannot buy off your responsibility. You have to DO what He tells you to do. You cannot serve the King and Master in your way, the way that you think. You must be led by the Holy Spirit. If you are not led by the Holy Spirit you cannot be pleasing to Jesus. A person who is born again of the Spirit of God LISTENS to the Holy Spirit. He is led by the Holy Spirit and he DOES the will of God. The kingdom of God is about SERVING Jesus Christ as LORD. You can only serve Jesus as Lord and Master and be part of His Kingdom IF you LISTEN TO and OBEY the Holy Spirit. Many people will be terribly disappointed when Jesus says to them:”Go away I never knew you.” They never served the Master, they served themselves. Jesus justifies those who OBEY Him, who live in righteousness, and who are led by His Spirit, who SERVE Him as LORD and MASTER because JESUS IS LORD. Do you serve Jesus as Lord? May Jesus bless you.
