Your WORKS determine your SALVATION

The wages of sin is death, therefor every person who has sinned will end up in hell unless he gets rid of that sin. Only Jesus can take away the guilt of our past sin. We have all sinned and we come short of the glory of God but, if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Master, and we repent of sin, in other words, we TURN AWAY FORM SIN. Then Jesus forgives out past sins and He accepts us as children of God, but then , as children of God, we need to live in utter holiness and obedience to Him.

If we go on sinning then we prove that we are not children of God, but indeed, we are children of satan. I read from 1 John 3:1. “See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.”

Here he is talking about those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Master and who have repented of sin, those who have obeyed Him, been baptized in water. They have become children of God and THEY HAVE THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE, they are children of God. But not all of those are children of God because some of them are all in sin.

We read on verse 3: “And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him PURIFIES HIMSELF, just as He is pure.” If you have the hope of eternal life you purify yourself just as Jesus is pure, YOU DO NOT SIN AT ALL, you OBEY Him.

Verse 4:”Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; NO ONE WHO SINS HAS SEEN HIM OR KNOWS HIM. Little children, let no one deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; THE ONE WHO PRACTICES SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; FOR THE DEVIL HAS SINNED FROM THE BEGINNING. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil. NO ONE WHO IS BORN OF GOD PRACTICES SIN, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. BY THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL ARE OBVIOUS: ANYONE WHO DOES NOT PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, nor the one who does not love his brother.”

There are many people who say that they are saved, they say they are Christians, they say they are children of God, but from our WORKS, it is obvious whether we are children of God or not, because if we are children of God we do not sin any more. We used to sin before we knew Jesus but once we've met Jesus, we do not sin any more – we do what is pleasing to Him! And that is how you see the difference between a child of God and a son of the devil. Dear friend, our works will determine where we spend eternity! If we are children of God our works will be righteous.
