His Righteousness - Attaining it

It is the will of God to give us all things freely. But what separates us from God is sin. We are concerned about food and clothing and all those things but Jesus said: We must not be concerned about those things. We need to be concerned about RIGHTEOUSNESS. We must GET RID OF SIN and LIVE RIGHTEOUSNESS then God will supply all those things to us freely. We read in Matthew 6:33 Jesus said:“ But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things will be added to you.” What is the righteousness of God? The righteousness of God is the STANDARD that JESUS came to demonstrate for us. Jesus came to show us what God’s standard of righteousness is. We must live like Jesus. The scribes and the Pharisees, the religious people of the time were RIGHTEOUS, SELF-RIGTEOUS according to the law of Moses but Jesus said in Matthew 5:20“ For I say to you, that UNLESS your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and the Pharisees, you shall not enter the Kingdom of God.” Jesus knows what is in our hearts. He searches our hearts and God wants purity in our hearts. That is why we must be BORN AGAIN, born again of God. We must accept Jesus into our lives and He will give us the new birth. He will make us a new man and then we will SIN NO MORE. We will live like Jesus lived in UTTER RIGHTEOUSNESS. If we are born again we DO NOT SIN any more, we do the will of God. We read in 1 John 3:9 “No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.” If we are born again, we DO NOT SIN and then we come into the presence of God, we are living like Jesus, LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT in the presence of God and we have need of nothing because there is no sin between us and God. There is no separation between us and God. We must ABIDE IN JESUS, in HIS WORDS, in those Words that He spoke. That is the way that we should live. JESUS is the WAY, and the TRUTH and the LIFE. And the righteousness of God is demonstrated IN JESUS and we are righteous as He is righteous when we ABIDE IM HIM, when we OBEY HIS WORDS. We read in 1 John 2:28 “And now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.” That is the sign that we are born of God is if we PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jesus said SEEK YE FIRST the KINGDOM OF GOD and HIS RIGHTOEUSNESS. Obedience to Jesus brings us into the Kingdom of God and then we practice the righteousness of God according to the standard that Jesus gave us. That is HIS WORDS as also written in the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, that is the righteousness of God. God’s standard of righteousness is what Jesus demonstrated to us. If we live according to that standard of righteousness then we are not separated from God any longer and He gives us all things freely, even eternal life. May Jesus bless you.
