Your Reputation

You cannot be a follower of Jesus if you are still worried about your reputation, if you are concerned that employers might find out that you are a Christian and that you follow Jesus. Many people are too scared to show their faces. They will not testify on a video and show their face and say:”I am a child of God, I follow Jesus!” They are ashamed of Jesus. They are worried about their reputation.
Jesus made Himself of NO REPUTATION for us. We read in Philippians 2:7”He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond-servant and being made in the likeness of men and being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient tot he point of death, even death on the cross.” Jesus said that if we deny Him in front of men, He will deny us in front of His heavenly Father and His holy angels. You cannot be of Jesus and of the world. James wrote in James 4:4”You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” If we are still worried about what people will think and about what the world thinks, then we cannot be worried about what God thinks.
They say that some people are so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good. Dear friend, if you are earthly acceptable and earthly good, then you might just find yourself unacceptable for the Kingdom of heaven.
We need to choose whether we will follow Jesus and accept the scorn that goes with being a child of God or whether we want the acceptance of the world. If we are acceptable to this world we cannot be acceptable to the Kingdom of God. Do you care what Jesus thinks of you or do you care what this wicked generation thinks of you? Are you concerned about your reputation?
May Jesus bless you.
