Learn from Me

Eternal life is to KNOW Jesus Christ, to serve Him as Lord and Master, to be taught by Him. Jesus alone is the way and the truth and the life. There is no other way to eternal life but Jesus. I read the words of Jesus from Matthew 11:25 “At that time Jesus answered and said, “I praise Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou didst hide these things from the wise and intelligent and didst reveal them to babes. “Yes, Father, for thus it was well-pleasing in Thy sight. “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and LEARN FROM ME, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. “For My yoke is easy and My load is light.”

Jesus will lead and guide and teach us. If we want eternal life WE NEED TO BE TAUGHT BY JESUS HIMSELF. As He taught His disciples, He also sent His Holy Spirit to be with us to guide and teach every one of us who has decided to follow Him. We need to be TAUGHT BY HIM, HIMSELF.

Since I have started following Jesus He has been teaching me, He has been coaching me. We need to trust in Him, wait on Him, and He will teach us. He will use anything in life to teach us, but we need to obey Him. We must obey His words, we must be totally focused on Him and He will guide our footsteps. He will make things happen in our lives that we can see Him, that we have no doubt that He is real, that He is alive. He will put us through difficult situations where we have no way out and then we will cry out to Him and He will reveal Himself as real, He will answer our prayers and that way we get to know Him.

Following Jesus is not an easy road. It is a road of choices, every day we need to make choices, to do what we want to do or to seek to be pleasing to Him. We will have to decide to either please a husband, a wife, do what I want to do, or do what is right, what Jesus requires of me. There will be consequences. If I make the wrong choice, then I will bear the consequences. If I make the right choice, I will have His approval. The only way that we grow in our relationship with Jesus, is if we constantly obey Him. If we do wrong we must repent, immediately, and stop doing what is wrong, get focused on Jesus and follow Him. And then He will guide us, but we must SUBMIT ourselves to Jesus, we must learn from Him. He will not force us but we must seek Him in everything. We must seek to obey Him, to be pleasing to Him. Obey His words, He said: “turn the other cheek” then you need to turn the other cheek. He said we must forgive and forget, be good to those who hate us and who persecute us, love out enemies. If we don't do it then we will not learn because then we are disobedient and rebellious. We must obey Jesus, even when it is difficult, even when it hurts us. We must be determined to obey Him, and then will get to know Him. Then we will SEE HIS HAND MOVE to do the impossible. The only way that we learn from Jesus is if we are focused on Him and we OBEY Him, without looking for a reason or an opportunity to disobey. He will not force you, but if we want to follow Jesus we must OBEY HIM, submit to Him. His yoke is light, He will not tell us to do things that are impossible. He is with us, to help us but we must obey.

We will learn obedience from what we suffer, but if we do not follow, submit and obey we will never get to know His ways and then one day He will say to us:”Go away from Me, I never knew you, you who work wickedness” because you never learned to submit to Jesus, to obey Him. We need to Learn from Jesus and then we will get to know His ways, and then we will be pleasing to Him.
