Walk in the Light

Jesus is the Light of the world and He guides those who follow Him.  We read in John 8:12 “Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the Light of life."  Any person who follows Jesus will always have guidance, he will know where he is going.
The psalmist writes in Psalm 119:105 “Thy Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Jesus said that His sheep listen to His voice and they follow Him.  Jesus is the Light to those who follow Him, He guides them step by step by His Word, by that which proceeds from His mouth.  Because they LISTEN TO HIM, they HEAR HIS VOICE.  We read in Deuteronomy 8:3 Moses writes: And He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live from bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”  We can be so concerned about our future, about what we will eat, what we will drink and how we will clothes ourselves. Jesus said we must seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.  What is that Kingdom?  That is to follow the LORD, Jesus Christ, Himself and then He will guide us step by step.  He has sent us His Holy Spirit to live in us, to guide us step by step.
But here is the catch.  Jesus gives us Light for today.  He does not gives us a road map, He does not tell us the future.  People want to see in the future so that they can plan their lives.  To those who follow Jesus, He Himself is their future.  He is their Light and as long as we keep our eyes on Jesus, stay focused on Him, then we walk in the Light.  But He will only give you Light for today, so that we can follow Him, that we can stay close to Him, because Jesus is our Life.
Are you following that Light?  Do you receive Light from Jesus every day, one day at a time or are you walking in darkness?  Are you guessing? Are you following your own mind?  Those who follow Him, will never be in darkness because their hope is in Him and He guides them step by step. If we walk in the Light, we will never be in darkness.
